VineyardsFollowing the success of the experimental planting of grapes in 1978, the vineyards at Jost have grown to 45 acres in Malagash. Malagash is located on the 45th parallel, the same as parts of France and Germany. Grape growing in marginal climates produces exciting, fruit forward wines, a perfect match for the Maritime bounty from land and sea. Lastly, but not least, Jost Vineyards has over 130 acres of vineyards under contract with grape growers around the province of Nova Scotia. The most common varieties are Marechal Foch, L’Acadie Blanc, Muscat, Leon Millot, Geisenheim, Seyval Blanc, Vidal Blanc, Mischurnitz and Severnyi. |
